From the cell phone: long past due

Elena lost two teeth! The tooth fairy was very generous:
$1.00/tooth, and even found her in Twisp.
It's been a while since I posted! I have many excuses. First, the main camera ran out of batteries, and I couldn't find the charger. Then I got some kind of error message when trying to download from the old camera. Then I couldn't figure out how to transfer photos from my cell phone to the computer. I am out of quota. I don't know what that means, but it is preventing me from actually owning and using all the pictures on my cell phone. Then I got addicted to Facebook and it was just so easy to upload my photos, and then when I did, I got immediate and copious feedback and "like"s... unlike this poor little blog that gets maybe one or two readers, and neither of them bother to comment. But here I am-- and the following are a few photos I took from my cell phone (sorry for the poor quality), and managed to upload to the blogger site. So here is the short and dirty of what has been happening with the Krentz clan over the last two months.

Cutest baby in the world in up-cycled sweater turned overalls

Katherine hidden in the shopping cart at QFC. I am learning how to grocery shop with three!

Katherine gets her first virus. I explore ways to remove
snot from tiny nostrils.
And then she recovers! Still sweet, even when sick.

Phoebe has to wear a t-shirt for a couple weeks to help heal some wounds
created by her puppies.
We are super glad to get our girl back and well taken care of.

Phoebe has her second litter of 5 adorable pups
 in Gig Harbor.

Elena finally becomes fluent in reading!
Kindergarten suits her wonderfully.

Katherine at 2-months-old!

Here are some recent photos of Katherine. She is such an amazing baby! Katy always told me that #3 would be icing on the cake, and so far,she is right. Katherine is mellow and sweet and easy, easy, easy. I almost feel like I'm jinxing something by saying this, but having three so far has not been much harder than having two. Elena and Jesse tend to occupy themselves for the most part, and Katherine keeps us all entertained and injects just enough cuteness to make up for the dirty diapers and 3 am feedings.Speaking of which, by baby#3, I definitely have figured out what works best for us night: co-sleeping from day one. Katherine goes to bed when I go to bed, wakes 2-3 at night to nurse, then sleeps in with Daddy in the morning. I hear her start to make tiny little snorting sounds, and with both of us still half asleep, I roll over and nurse, then we both go right back to sleep. Easy!

The day started with a tower of presents.

Pictures from the valley

Katherine's birth upstaged the visit from Amy et alia, so I am throwing in a few more pictures from their visit. We were in the Methow Valley for 5 days, and enjoyed lots of wonderful music, great food, farmer's market, tubing down the river, horseback riding (Dorothea), Rachel's birthday, general merrirment, and a heaping spoonful of bickering just to keep us on our toes. I am so happy that Boris and his boys are in our lives, and hope that they feel welcomed and loved.

Family

Our friend, Lucia Mumm, happened to be passing through Seattle three days after Katherine was born. In return for staying at our house for a night, she provided for us some beautiful family photos.
